Choosing a Name for Your Character
It’s not easy to choose a name for your character when starting up in an unfamiliar setting. To remedy that, here is a simple Name Generator page that will help you get started. I will continue to grow this list with time so don’t hesitate to come back and visit every time you create a new character in Jeosung, the setting for the Koryo Hall of Adventures.
Last Name
The first thing you need to ask yourself is: does my character have a last name ?
Be aware that most of the individuals living in Jeosung, the commoners, don’t have a last name.
Only individuals who’s families have ties with the Dragons Kings of the Second Age, or those with certain financial or influential means can have a last name. Here is an extract from the Koryo Hall of Adventures - Adventurer’s Guide to Jeosung:
“Only in the middle of the Second Age did it become possible for wealthy individuals to purchase family names from local government offices. Yangbans who wanted to distance themselves from the rest of society jumped on the surname bandwagon. The government saw a good opportunity to make money and created a scale of prices dictated by the popularity and history of each name. It is now possible to buy almost any name from the cheapest, most common ones to the unique and historically charged ones for a fortune.”
You can choose your last name in the following list. If you would rather leave it to chance, follow these steps:
- Throw 1d10 and 1d4 at the same time.
- The result of the d10 indicates the row in the following table.
